Rules differ and change

Estate, gift and income tax rules change, and wills, trusts, powers of attorney and probate differ by state. A page may leave out an exception that matters to a particular family.

Calculators and checklists

Calculators show arithmetic on the numbers you enter. Checklists list topics and records. Neither is a plan, a recommendation or a legal document.
